MISSION & VISION.
OUR MISSION
At the Murarabungu Conservation Initiative, our mission is to protect and restore the natural ecosystems within the Chegutu Safari Area. We are committed to preserving endangered species, revitalizing their habitats, and empowering local communities through sustainable development. Our goal is to create a harmonious balance between wildlife conservation and human progress, ensuring a thriving environment for future generations.
WHY NOW
The need to protect our wildlife has never been greater. The Murarabungu Conservation Initiative was born out of a partnership between the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority and Speedlight Ventures. Officially launched on June 5, 2024, this collaboration marks a significant step towards revitalizing the Chegutu Safari Area which had been abandoned for over 15 years.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to establish the Chegutu Safari Area as a premier example of successful wildlife conservation and community empowerment. We envision a world where endangered species like the Kori Bustard can thrive in their natural habitats, and local communities are actively engaged in and benefit from conservation efforts. Through education, sustainable practices, and innovative solutions, we aim to create a lasting positive impact on both the environment and the people who depend on it.
